Gulf States Camera Club Council (GSCCC)
GSCCC is comprised of some 35 member photography/camera clubs from Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. As a member club, PPC submits entries to GSCCC's monthly Projected Digital competitions through our GSCCC Representative who chooses entries from PPC competitions and/or PPC member contributions. PPC does not submit entries to the GSCCC Print competitions. Up to 4 entries can be submitted per competition category (i.e., Photojournalism, Pictorial, or Nature) each month, but not more than one entry from any individual photographer within a single competition category. Projected Digital competitions alternate monthly between a Photojournalism and a Pictorial competition one month to a Nature competition the next month (and so on). As a member club, PPC also judges one GSCCC competition per year.
Photographic Society of America (PSA)
Founded in 1934, PSA is the largest association of its kind, bringing together professional and amateur enthusiasts of all ages and levels of achievement. As a non-profit organization, its mission is to promote and enhance the art and science of photography in all its phases, among members and non-members alike. PSA is a worldwide interactive organization for anyone interested in photography, be they casual, serious amateurs or professional photographers. PSA has over 5000 members in all 50 states as well as 60 other countries around the world. As a member club, PPC participates in PSA through our PSA Representative. Dallas Profession Photographers of America The Dallas PPA, an affiliate of the Professional Photographers of America, seeks to elevate the standards of professional photography in Dallas and the DFW Metroplex by providing educational events and promoting fellowship and mutual support amongst its members. --------------------------------- Other photography related links, training and classes of interest. Collin College (Collin County Community College) - CCCCD offers a Digital Photographer Certificate through its Continuing Education program.
Dallas County Community College - The Photo/Imaging Program at Richland College offers you a wide range of photographic and digital imaging experiences whether you envision an occupation or just want to improve your skills. A Photographic & Imaging Program and an Associate in Arts Degree (Emphasis in Photographic/Imaging) is offered. Southern Methodist University in Plano - With classes held at the SMU-in-Plano, SMU offers hands-on courses in photography technique and the digital image world of Photoshop. (Plano)
