About the Plano Photography Club
Who We Are
Serving Plano, Dallas and the surrounding suburbs, the Plano Photography Club was established in 1984 for anyone interested in photography.
In 1990 the club was incorporated as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization.
More information about the club's origins and early years is available on Our History page.
PDF copies of the Club’s By-Laws and Constitution are available.
Each week we have a new Topic of the Week photo activity. When in-person club activities are held, they are tailored to the current state and federal health guidelines. The safety of our club members is of paramount importance.
Where and When We Meet
Monthly club meetings are held at West Plano Presbyterian Church, 2709 Custer Road, Plano, Texas on the third Thursday of each month (except December when no meeting is held).
Club programs begin promptly at 7:15 pm. Preceding the program in most months, there is a training session (study groups) at 6 pm.
Adults across all skill levels, from beginner to professional, are welcome to join and participate in club meetings and activities.
During our meetings we usually have a guest speaker who covers a topic of interest to our group. We conclude each meeting with a judge's commentary on the prior month's photo competition and announce the competition awards.
Guests are welcome to attend our monthly club meetings. Check out our schedule of upcoming programs and if you see one you would like to attend, please let us know via email.
Executive Committee Meetings
During the pandemic, monthly executive committee meetings are normally held via Zoom at 7:00 PM on the first Thursday of each month (except December when no meeting is held).
The Plano Photography Club welcomes amateurs, enthusiasts, and professionals with an interest in expanding their photographic skills and practicing their craft with others to join our club.
Individual memberships are $30 for twelve (12) months. Dues for each additional membership in the same household are $2.
New members can sign up through our website by following these instructions.

GSCCC is comprised of some 25 member photography/camera clubs from Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas. As a member club, PPC submits entries to GSCCC’s monthly Projected Digital competitions through our GSCCC Representative who chooses entries from PPC competitions and/or PPC member contributions. PPC does not submit entries to the GSCCC Print competitions. Up to four entries can be submitted per competition category (i.e., Photojournalism, Pictorial, or Nature) each month, but not more than one entry from any individual photographer within a single competition category. As a member club, PPC also judges one GSCCC competition per year.
Our GSCCC representative is Sam Lucas.
